He is a member of the Republican Party. ==Early life and education== DeSantis was born in 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Dunedin High School in Dunedin in 1997. He matriculated at Yale University, where he was captain of the varsity baseball team in his senior year. He was also a member of the Phi chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon at Yale University, the same fraternity as 5 former U.S Presidents including George W. Bush. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in History in 2001.
